The Pre-IAS Training Centre (PITC), Kolhapur is one of the six Institutions established by Government of Maharashtra with an aim to encourage and train the students in every nook and corner of the state of Maharashtra to pursue a successful career in the higher public services and to increase the representation of Officers from the state in the Civil Services.

The PITC, Kolhapur is a residential Institute, established in 1985. It was initially started at Willington College, Sangli. From 1986 to 2010, the institute was being operated from the campus of Rajaram College, Kolhapur. On 26th June 2011, Institute was shifted to its own beautiful and serene campus. Since its inception, the centre has produced many efficient and dedicated Officers in various cadres of repute like IAS, IFS, IPSand so on.
